City of Hope is a community of broken Christ followers who feel called to help disconnected people find their way back to God. Through our Sunday gatherings, life groups, worship, and service opportunities it is our desire that God’s presence transform and animate this community to transform and breathe life into this city.
After lots of prayer and fasting, there was a clear sense that God was leading us to start City of Hope. A small group began praying and seeking the Lord for direction on what City of Hope was to look like! In the summer of 2013, the direction came into greater clarity.
- The Lord, Himself, wanted to “build” this body
- He wanted it to include “all nations!”
- He wanted to construct a family where He could live by His Spirit (Eph. 2)
As this group of seekers grew, a Sunday night gathering formed in fall of 2013. The group continued to grow, and so did the excitement of what our Lord could build as we committed to being in community together! It was during this season that we all agreed that there needed to be smaller pockets of communities (that we called Life-Groups) where more could be shared than in a large group!
February 2014, City of Hope launched a Sunday morning gathering. In the Spring of 2015, we outgrew the Coffee shop on Orr Street and began meeting in the Armory at 701 East Ash. Starting in March of 2017, we started having services in the KLIFE building on 1507 Mills Drive.
